Boosting Morale, One Party at a Time

Boosting Morale, One Party at a Time

Human Capital Media is a small team with big motivation. Made up of more than 30 employees, each individual plays a critical role in moving the needle. Whether it is organizing our dozens of events, publishing hundreds of articles or sharing thousands of social media posts — all of which are equally important to the success of HCM — we maintain that employees are a company’s most valuable asset. This is why we always make time for some fun.

Some of HCM’s favorite pastimes include:

  • Potlucks: We share, we brag, we compete, we eat.
  • Birthdays: Yes, donuts flood our breakroom often.
  • Monthly Challenges: Employees put on their creative hats to come up with unique contests.

Between the above mini engagements and our annual parties, it’s arguable that the most popular internal event of the year is the HCM Summer Party.

So what’s the takeaway? While we advocate for leadership development and workplace productivity, sometimes there is no substitute for simply making time for your employees. Take them to lunch, ask for their opinion (and consider it!), schedule a team outing or a casual get-together. All of these little efforts can make a huge difference in morale, because sometimes transforming employees into true patrons is as simple as showing your appreciation.
